Fenland District Council have given the go ahead for the transplanting of the A-Maze orchard in the Wisbech Town park to the Fenland Orchards Project site. We intend to plant the trees in the same layout as it is in the park.

Bob Lever came along to give advice and guidence on pruning the trees ready for the move. The trees have not been pruned for a couple of years so the volunteers were extremely grateful to have such and experienced mentor on hand. Great first session.

The volunteers are making great progress with the pruning, about 2/3 of the trees have been done. Marking out etc is next at the Fenland Orchards Project site.

We are pleased to announce that we will have two Wassailing celebrations at the orchard in 2026. In collaboration with The Wild Hub on 4th Jan and then with Creative Fenland on 31st Jan.

We are pleased to announce the Apple Day Craft Fair will be at the Walsoken Village Hall on Sunday 26th October. 10am - 2pm. We have some wonderful crafters and local producers planned, along with a street food vendor
Operation Orchard Garden Opens to Mark 80 Years Since the End of WWII
A new commemorative space, Operation Orchard Garden, has officially opened to the public, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The garden stands as both a place of remembrance and a symbol of peace, honouring those who lived, fought, and sacrificed during one of the most defining periods of modern history.
The project was designed and brought to life by Malcolm Smith as part of his Level 2 City & Guil
Exciting times at the orchard, the need for water has always been on our minds and recently the rain water harvesting has not been able to keep up. The creation of the water well means we can move forward with the care of the trees and plants as well as focussing on other projects.

We are extremely excited to be welcoming The Wild Hub to the orchard and their wonderful health and well-being sessions. For details please see their website

This film is the culmination of a co-creation process between na/films and Fenland communities/individuals who over the last 3 months have worked together to uncover stories of the people and places of the Fens that may have never been heard.

As you may have seen, sadly our tool store was broken into and a lot of our equipment was stolen. We are not going to let this spoil our year and are extremely grateful to those that have already donated replacement equipment.
On wards and up wards.

We’re thrilled to announce further support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for our project which will
enable us to run more heritage skills workshops, plant more trees, run fun family activities and lots, lots more.
A huge thanks to #NationalLottery players!
